The minimum wage in the District of Columbia will increase to $15.20 per hour on July 1, 2021 for all workers, regardless of the size of the employer.

Tipped Employees:

The minimum cash wage for tipped employees will increase to $5.05 per hour on July 1, 2021. If an employee's hourly tip earnings (averaged weekly) and cash wages don't equal or exceed $15.20 per hour, the employer must pay the difference.

Compliance Recommendations:

Employers with employees in the District must ensure that they comply with the minimum wage requirements and post an up-to-date minimum wage notice by July 1, 2021. Please contact your dedicated service professional with any questions.
