Montana has announced that the state minimum wage will increase from $8.75 per hour to $9.20 per hour effective January 1, 2022.

Note: Montana law does not allow for tip credit, meal credit or training wage rates of pay.

2022 Minimum Wage Poster Released:

The Montana Department of Labor and Industry has released the English and Spanish versions of its 2022 Minimum Wage poster.

Compliance Recommendations:

Aside from a few very narrow exceptions, employers must pay all non-exempt employees at least $9.20 per hour beginning January 1, 2022. Although not required, it's a best practice for covered employers to post a minimum wage notice in a conspicuous area of the workplace.
