Author: ADP Admin/Monday, June 30, 2025/Categories: Compliance Corner , Federal Compliance Update

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted a Federal Register notice on the termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Cameroon. The TPS termination will be effective on Aug.  4, 2025, which is 60 days after the publication in the Federal Register.

Next steps

·      The Federal Register notice specifically confirms that DHS acknowledges that Cameroonian TPS beneficiaries will retain their employment authorization during the 60-day transition period.

·      To verify their continued employment authorization through this transition period, Cameroonian TPS beneficiaries can present their Employment Authorization Documents (EADs), which should have the notation A-12 or C-19 under the category section and a “Card Expires” date of June 7, 2025.  Forms I-9 should then be updated to reflect the new expiration date of Aug. 4, 2025.

·      After Aug. 4, 2025 impacted employees will also need to be reverified by updating Forms I-9 as applicable
