Introducing API access for our PEO clients HRO Integration Services, a part of Shared Services, is excited to announce the official availability of API for our TotalSource PEO partners and their clients beginning January 2019.

What is an 'API'?
An API or ‘Application Programming Interface’ is an agreement between two systems on how to communicate. ADP APIs allow a client to work with their ADP Workforce Now® data without having to go into WFN itself. They do this by writing an application that runs from time to time to pull or push data between their system and ADP WFN.

What are the benefits to the client?
Using APIs allows the client virtually real-time access to their data in ADP without having to run reports.

Why setup API and what are common uses?
APIs can make data that is in ADP Workforce Now® available in the clients Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Finance / Business Intelligence systems or to their chosen vendors.

One of the most common uses is for a client to populate their local Windows Active Directory or similar system when a new employee is hired, termed or otherwise change status.

Other examples of the data they can work with:

Pushing data to ADP for fields that cannot otherwise be automated in WFN such as custom fields
Pulling data for Time Off balances
Pulling talent data such as Licenses & Certification detail
Pulling Direct Deposit Detail

What WFN fields are available via ADP APIs?
An ADP API Data Dictionary is available in ADPWorks.

When is API available for PEO?
All TotalSource PEO WFN clients in January 2019

Pricing

One-Time Fees: $175 per hour capped at $2,800 (average billable time 5 - 6 hours)
One-Time Fees: $20 per set of API user credentials per month (most clients only need one set of credentials and therefore pay $20 per month for access to all APIs)
One-Time Fees: $2,500 for 90 days of access (this environment contains a copy of the client's real production data and is primarily needed only for inbound to ADP API testing)
