Arizona announces minimum  wage

The Industrial Commission of Arizona has announced that the state’s minimum wage rate will increase.

 

The Details:

Effective January 1, 2023, the minimum wage in Arizona will increase to $13.85 per hour from the current level of $12.80 per hour.

Also on January 1, 2023, the minimum cash wage in the state for tipped employees will increase to $10.85 from the current level of $9.80 per hour.  Under Arizona state law, employers are allowed to pay tipped employees a cash wage of $3.00 less than the minimum wage.

Next Steps:

As of January 1, 2023, Arizona employers must pay their employees at least the minimum wage as described above.

In addition, Arizona employers must post minimum wage posters “which are to be displayed in a place accessible to employees.”
