If you have employees in West Virginia, ADP TotalSource® files quarterly reports with West Virgina that contain your employee information in our aggregate filing with the agency. While ADP TotalSource completes the filing, we need your help with new filing requirements, beginning with first quarter, 2024.
Employers must now include the following as part of the quarterly State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) reporting:
· The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes or job titles for each employee.
· The Worked-In County for each employee.
See additional information at the Workforce West Virginia Agency.
What you need to do
· Locate the SOC codes for all your West Virginia-based employees from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) website: https://www.bls.gov/soc.
· Update SOC codes in ADP TotalSource
o Instructions to update SOC Codes are available on Service Portal.
o ADP TotalSource will be using SOC code in our reporting to the agency.
· Determine the county where most of the employee’s job duties were performed.
o A Worked-In County field will be available in ADP TotalSource during March 2024. Once available, update the information in your payroll system for your West Virginia employees.
Important notes
· Instructions for Worked-In County input will be available in March.
· Update employee Worked-In County with your March payroll processing to ensure this required data is included in the first quarter SUI reporting to West Virginia.
· ADP TotalSource will file the required reporting with West Virginia. You do not need to file an individual report for periods where you were a TotalSource client.
If you were not an ADP TotalSource client and used another service or provider to process payroll during the first quarter of 2024, contact your previous payroll provider and tax filing service to determine if you need to file a partial quarter report.
