New York state requires paid leave for COVID-19 vaccination

The State of New York has enacted Senate Bill 2588-A, which grants employees paid time off to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Senate Bill 2588-A is effective immediately and set to expire on December 31, 2022.

Senate Bill 2588-A:

Under Senate Bill 2588-A, all New York employees are entitled to up to four hours of paid leave per injection. Employers must provide the leave at the employee's regular rate of pay, and employers are prohibited from deducting this leave from any other earned or accrued time.
