Occupational Safety and Health Administration Accepting Electronic Injury and Illness Reports through December 31

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will continue accepting 2016 OSHA Form 300A data until midnight on December 31, 2017. OSHA will not take enforcement action against employers who submit their reports after the December 15, 2017 deadline, but before the December 31, 2017 final entry date.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will continue accepting 2016 OSHA Form 300A data through the Injury Tracking Application (ITA) until midnight on December 31, 2017. OSHA will not take enforcement action against those employers who submit their reports after the December 15, 2017, deadline but before December 31, 2017, final entry date. Starting January 1, 2018, the ITA will no longer accept the 2017 data. In the November 2, 2017 edition of the Insights & Solutions newsletter, we informed you that OSHA proposed to postpone the deadline for affected employers to electronically submit injury and illness records from July 1, 2017 to December 1, 2017. On November 22, 2017, OSHA extended the compliance date to December 15, 2017. On December 18, 2017 OSHA published a news release stating that it would not take enforcement action against employers that missed the December 15, 2017, deadline but successfully submit their records by midnight on December 31, 2017.
