March 14, 2019 District of Columbia Employment Protections for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Offenses, and Stalking. Amends District of Columbia law to protect victims and family members of victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and stalking against discrimination by employers. Requires an employer must make a reasonable accommodation for an employee who is the victim or family member of a victim of domestic violence, a sexual offense, or stalking. March 18, 2019 New York City Lactation Law. Private employers in New York City will have to find space for a “lactation room” and establish a written lactation room policy. March 29, 2019 Michigan increases the minimum wage. The minimum wage increases to $9.45 per hour. Michigan requires paid medical leave. Employers with 50 or more employees must allow eligible employees to accrue up to 40 hours of paid medical leave per benefit year. April 1, 2019 New York City Stop Sexual Harassment Act. Employers with 15 or more employees to conduct annual anti-sexual harassment training for all employees. April 10, 2019 Westchester County Paid Sick Leave Law. Requires covered employers to allow eligible employees to accrue one hour of earned paid sick time for every 30 hours worked up to 40 hours per year. *Produced in partnership with Littler Mendelson P.C.
