We hope you and your employees never experience a work-related injury or illness. However, if one does occur, we wanted to remind you of the resources available to help the injured employee to get well soon. ADP TotalSource has partnered with Helmsman Management Services (HMS), a third-party workers’ compensation claims administrator, to help provide a workers’ compensation experience focused on meeting the needs of both the injured employee and their worksite employer.

Immediately after a new workers’ compensation claim is submitted, HMS creates and mails a Health Ticket with helpful information including the claim number, how to select a medical provider, pharmacy access, billing information and more, to the injured employee. In a case where the injured employee is unable to work due to their injury, HMS will send a Smart Video with additional helpful information to the injured employee to further support them in their treatment and recovery process. Please note that a Smart Video is only sent to employees that miss workdays past the statutory waiting period. The video is not sent on medical only claims or claims involving litigation. The timing of the video is aligned with the initial indemnity wage loss payment which follows the statutory waiting period.

ADP TotalSource provides support and consultation for maintaining a safe workplace to help prevent work-related injuries and illnesses from occurring. We also recognize that accidents can happen and are prepared to support and advise you during those difficult moments. Feel free to contact your ADP TotalSource service team if you have any questions.
