ADP TotalSource® was recently named by the IRS as one of the first-ever Certified Professional Employer Organization (CPEO). We’re thrilled to receive this important certification from the IRS because the certification gives business owners confidence that a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) like ADP TotalSource has met specific standards set by the U.S. government.
To qualify for IRS certification, we had to adhere to very specific bonding and independent financial-review requirements. We’ll also participate in ongoing reporting and record-keeping to maintain our status as a CPEO. If you would like more information about what this legislation means to you, please click here.
IMPORTANT: Under these new guidelines, the IRS is requiring each of our clients to sign documents to be covered under our Certification as a CPEO . Each client contract signer will be sent an email with specific directions on which documents are required to be signed by them. Please note that if you started with ADP TotalSource after November 10, 2016, you may not be required to sign both of these forms.
These documents may include:
- An addendum to your Client Services Agreement (CSA) that contains mandatory provisions describing the responsibilities of a CPEO and the rights of a client of a CPEO.
- IRS Form 8973 which notifies the IRS that you have a Client Services Agreement (CSA) with a CPEO and that the CPEO will file federal employment taxes on your behalf.
ADP TotalSource is proud to have received this certification. It’s important to us that we provide our clients with top-notch services that adhere to the highest standards.
And we’ll continue to do whatever it takes to preserve the trust you have placed in us.
