ADP® eI-9 Release

ADP® is pleased to announce the releases for ADP Electronic I-9 (eI-9) application and services.  Please note that you will not be able to access the system during the release deployment, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time.   

Release Highlights

  • Employment Authorization Document Issued by DHS List C #8 – You can now select a document type of “Other” and enter a description when completing Sections 2 and 3.  The description will appear on the printed Form I-9.
  • Field Level Help – You can access Help directly from the field where you see the Help icon  when completing Sections 1, 2, and 3 in addition to the Receipts to Original pages. 
  • Minors and Disabled Employees – When completing Section 1, employees who are minors or disabled must include an identity document if their work location participates in the E-Verify program.  These employees need to provide additional information and cannot select the option which states that they DO NOT possess acceptable documentation to prove identity.  If the employee tries to select this option and the client participate in the E-Verify program, the following warning message displays:
  • Edit Work Location in Section 2 – Managers can edit the work location in Section 2 if the address is incorrect or incomplete.  However, P.O. Boxes are not allowed.  In order to proceed, the work address in Section 2 must be complete.  Please note that ADP recommends that client administrators review the standard Locations Report and update work location addresses as needed to ensure that all addresses are complete and accurate.
  • Link to Form I-9 Instructions – A  link to the PDF version of the Form I-9 instructions is included in Section 1.
  • General Enhancements – We made general enhancements to the eI-9 Section 2 processing to reduce errors when completing the Start Date in Section 2 as well as the ability to edit the Organization Name or Address on a completed Form I-9.  We also updated a standard E-Verify report.
