Seattle Washington's minimum wage will increase on January 1, 2022. Employers must pay all non-exempt employees who work in Seattle at least the minimum wage per hour.

2022 Rates:

For employers with 500 or fewer employees, the minimum wage will be:

·      $15.75, if an employee receives at least $1.52 per hour in medical benefits or tips; or

·      $17.27, if they do not receive at least $1.52 per hour in medical benefits or tips.

For employers with more than 500 employees, the 2022 minimum wage will be:

$17.27 per hour, regardless of the benefits or tips the employee receives.

Posting Requirements:

Employers must display an updated poster (in English and the primary language spoken at the workplace) in a conspicuous and accessible location. The English version of the poster is available here. Other versions are available here.

Note: In situations where an employer cannot display the poster, including when an employee works remotely or doesn’t have a regular work site, employers may provide the poster on an individual basis in an employee's primary language in a physical or electronic format that is reasonably conspicuous and accessible.

Domestic Workers:

Those who employ domestic workers are encouraged to distribute the 2022 Model Notice of Rights and Pay Information to their workers, in the language the worker is most comfortable using.
