COBRA insurance premiums federally financed subsidy

On Thursday, March 11th, President Biden signed The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (“ARPA”) into law. Amongst broader COVID-19 and Economic relief, ARPA provides for a 100 percent federally-financed subsidy of COBRA insurance premiums that is available to certain eligible individuals during the period beginning on April 1, 2021 and ending on September 30, 2021.

Department of Education – Extension to Student Loan Suspension

A January 20, 2021 memorandum was signed by President Biden requesting that the suspension of student loans extend past 01/31/2021 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  To extend relief during these unprecedented times, The Department of Education (DOE) Office of Federal Student Aid has confirmed the suspension of student loan payments until September 30, 2021.  For more details, please refer to the Student Aid site.
