Virginia overtime wage act provisions replaced with FLSA overtime requirements

On April 11, 2022, the Governor or Georgia signed into law House Bill 1173 (HB 1173).  HB 1173 largely aligns Virginia overtime standards with federal standards. HB 1173 is effective on July 1, 2022.   ADP is actively working to assess any impact this development may have on ADP systems and will provide an update on any actions clients may need to take as soon as possible.

Utah enacts hiring legislation

Utah has enacted a new law that provides immunity for certain types of employers that hire employees with a criminal background. The new law will automatically expire on July 1, 2025.

Oregon temporarily amends Equal Pay Act

Maine requires payout of unused paid vacation effective Jan. 1, 2023

On April 7, 2022, Governor Mills of Maine signed into law H.P. 160, which requires employers to pay out all accrued, unused vacation at the time of separation.  This requirement becomes effective on Jan. 1, 2023.
